Exploring Streetcar February 15, 2008

As we get deeper into A Streetcar Named Desire, there are quite a few things for you all to be thinking about. First, I will caution you again to resist the urge to write Blanche off as a character unworthy of your reflection. Many students find her so off-putting that they cannot or will not consider Williams’ character beyond her face value. Big mistake.

Second, be thinking about the characterizations of Stanley and Stella, as well.

And, of course, think about characters as metaphor….

Hi Mrs. Bazinet! Sorry I’ve missed so many classes! haha I have a question though.. I remember you showed us a site that kind of translated writings into better understanding. I can’t seem to think of the website though, so if you could please post it or leave a comment, that’d be GRRRRRRRRREAT!

I have another question. I just read The Waste Land and its analysis. I have a really good understanding of it now, but I’m not sure if it goes with my attribute. Do you think I would be able to connect this to the experience of reality, since the speaker keeps changing from female to male? If I can’t write about it at all, do I just forget about writing a blog for it? Hm……

Ms.Baz, do you think you could be understanding and check mine tomorrow, tuesday the 4th. I had every single one of my freakin blogs done on my flashdrive in word, because my internet doesnt work, but my computer is so messed up, everything on my flash drive is erased. I have everything saved on my computer still, but i wont be able to post it at home because my computer is atrocious. So can i put it on my flash drive tonight and bring it in tomorrow and post tomorrow?

Hey Ms. Baz, will you be looking over the blogs again Friday before you send in the grades? I know I’m decently behind here, but I just finished my Prufrock blog and I’m typing up another one right now.

thanks

Hellooo Ms. Baz. I have a question… When I quote the writings in my blogs, do I have to have some place where I cite the places I got these quotes from? The quotes I’m getting come from the worksheets you passed out, so do you expect us to be citing whatever link these quotes come from?

I will be looking again tonight (Thursday) and tomorrow. You have some time….

Meme, links are really handy and don’t really take much time, so you should use links whenever possible.

Hey Ms. Baz. I made a few small corrections to my already graded blogs, but I didnt have a chance to change any of the content yet. However, I did do a Streetcar blog, and I think it is much better than my other blogs so far and i feel a lot more confident that I really understood it. If you could read it and comment on it that would be great because I am hoping that it will bump up my grade a little bit for interims. Thanksss!
